A Cup of Tea with Me!
My full name is Mycaela Dion Everly and I am a Freelance artist, dancer, choreographer, teacher, photographer and writer. I wear many hats. I have never fit into one category, so I take all of my skill sets and talents and combine them into doing something that will make me happy on a daily basis. Art is everywhere and used in all sorts of ways and mediums.
As for my education, I graduated in December 2018 from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s degree in English, writing and rhetoric, a professional and technical writing certificate, a Studio Art Photography Minor and Dance Minor.
I first started writing on a publishing/ story sharing site called Wattpad and I wrote under the pen name SamPrinceton. Over the years I transitioned to creating this website myself and publishing my poetry. But as time has gone on, my posts have become less and less frequent and my poetry has become too personal to share. But I enjoy writing with such passion that I have decided to start writing on a weekly basis on different topics, instead of limiting myself to only poetry and the occasional short story here and there.
Being a writer and finding steady work or writing gigs has become harder and harder as the years pass by. No one wants to pay for our time and creativity and we are no longer thought of as artists with the written word. All writing has been condensed to 250 characters or less, something that needs to be read quickly so our fingers can scroll mindlessly, or no writing at all… just pictures.
I’m here to change that.
